Description

This session is the fourth of several live virtual webinars comprising the 5th Annual Medical Ethics Symposium COVID-19 Pandemic: Ethical Decision Making & Allocation of Scarce Resources.  

Ethical guidance includes principles of patient autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice.  Further, ethically grounded policies and statements developed during the initial phases of the Pandemic include the duty to care, duty to health care providers, duty to steward resources, duty to plan, necessity of upholding research ethics and importantly transparency.  Attendees will gain knowledge about the institution response nessitated by the Pandemic and how these challenges were met.
