Description
Aortic Awareness Day aims to address a critical professional practice gap in the early detection, diagnosis and management of aortic diseases including aortic aneurysms and dissections. Despite advances in imaging and treatment, these conditions often remail under-recognized or misdiagnosed in clinical practice, leading to preventable morbidity and mortality. Aortic Awareness Day prioritizes at risk individuals, acute patients requiring emergency intervention, and survivors managing long term care.

Objectives
- Recognize the critical need for early diagnosis and treatment of aortic diseases and be able to outline current diagnostic tools and emergency response protocols.
- Identify high risk patient profiles, with both classic as well as atypical presentations of acute aortic diseases.
- Apply current evidence-based guidelines and diagnostic strategies for timely evaluation and initial management of aortic emergencies.
- Highlight the importance of integrated team communication across emergency, cardiology, vascular and CT surgical services.
- Interpret emerging data and advances in aortic disease management including genetic screening, endovascular techniques and long-term surveillance.
- Aortic awareness day will give patients and community the tools, knowledge, and support they need to manage their condition, prevent complications, and advocate for better care.
