Windkessel and Intracranial Thermodynamics Symposium -2026

Friday, October 23, 2026

Conference starts in:

MART Auditorium - Stony Brook, NY
Online Streaming Available
1 Day Conference October 23rd, 2026
5.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit Hours

Description

The symposium will explore recent advances in our understanding of the cerebral windkessel system and its relevance to disorders of cerebrovascular and cerebral spinal fluid (CFS) energy flow, with particular attention to hydrocephalus.  It will bring together neurosurgeons, engineers, neurologists, researchers, and patient advocates and will include keynote lectures and interactive scientific discussions.

Dates and Times

Start: 10/23/2026 7:00 AM
End: 10/23/2026 3:15 PM

Objectives

  • Discuss how the Windkessel theory changes the traditional understanding of brain pulsatility in the setting of conditions such as Hydrocephalus or Traumatic Brain Injury.
  • Describe compliance, cerebral autoregulation, intracranial pressure in relation to conditions affecting the brain.
  • Review cutting-edge approaches to treating Hydrocephalus.
