Description
Aortic Arch anatomy and image optimization with Aortic Arch Echo imaging.
Dates and Times
Start: 9/18/2024 9:15 AM
End: 9/18/2024 11:15 AM
Objectives
1. **Understand the Anatomy of Vascular Rings**:
- Review the embryology and anatomical structures involved in the formation of vascular rings, including their relationship to surrounding structures such as the trachea and esophagus.
2. **Recognize the Types of Vascular Rings**:
- Differentiate between the various types of vascular rings, including double aortic arch, right aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian artery, and others.
3. **Identify Clinical Presentations**:
- Discuss the typical clinical symptoms associated with vascular rings, such as respiratory distress, dysphagia, and stridor, and understand the age of presentation.
4. **Role of Echocardiography in Diagnosis**:
- Explain how echocardiography is used to identify vascular rings, including key views and imaging techniques that highlight relevant anatomy and pathology.
5. **Correlate with Other Imaging Modalities**:
- Understand the limitations of echocardiography and the role of complementary imaging modalities, such as CT angiography or MRI, in the comprehensive evaluation of vascular rings.
6. **Management and Treatment Options**:
- Discuss the surgical and non-surgical management of vascular rings, including indications for intervention based on echocardiographic findings and clinical presentation.
7. **Case Studies and Real-World Examples**:
- Present case studies where echocardiography was key in diagnosing and managing vascular rings, highlighting both common and unusual presentations.
