Objectives

1. Be aware of the guidelines regarding the use of sodium-glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors in the perioperative period


2. Be aware of the guidelines regarding the use of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) agonists in the perioperative period


3. Be able to provide perioperative recommendations for oral hypoglycemic medications, insulin, and non-insulin injectables for diabetes


4. Be familiar with Stony Brook University Hospital's policy on continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps, particularly in the perioperative period
