Objectives
- To understand the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of heterogeneity in neurodegenerative movement disorders.
- To understand how these challenges can motivate the basic and clinical research priorities in an academic movement disorders division and through academic-industry collaborations.
- To contextualize recent drug-discovery efforts that led to stearoyl-coA desaturase inhibitors as a potential lipid-directed therapeutic for amelioration of Parkinson’s disease progression.
