Description
This session will provide an overview of using simulation as an educational strategy in healthcare education. During this session we will discuss
the various simulation modalities available and identify which modality is best used to meet the learning objectives. This session will also provide steps involved
in designing a simulation scenario and in creating a safe and supportive simulation learning environment.
Dates and Times
Start: 1/29/2025 12:00 PM
End: 1/29/2025 1:00 PM
Objectives
After this workshop participants will be able to:
● Define simulation as an educational strategy
● Differentiate between various simulation modalities like
standardized patients, high-fidelity mannequins, virtual
reality, and hybrid simulations.
● Outline the steps involved in designing a simulation
scenario, including identifying
learning objectives, developing realistic patient cases, and
selecting appropriate
simulation tools.
● Explain the importance of pre-briefing and debriefing
sessions in maximizing learning outcomes.
