Description

Description: This will be a lecture about the integration of placental findings into autopsies for fetuses. It will include a review of normal histology and pathological findings in the placenta associated with intrauterine fetal demise cases as well as case examples.

Objectives

1) Review common findings associated with the placenta in IUFDs, as well as common histopathologic features of fetal deaths

2) Discuss the importance of placental findings in relation to IUFDs

3) Distinguish between postmortem changes and pathology of the placenta
