Description

Three speakers will present different aspects related to this talk.

 1. Sean Clouston, Ph.D. - Epidemiology of aging in WTC responders

2.  Frank D. Mann, Ph.D. - 20-Year Trajectories of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: Genetic Prediction and Differentially Expressed Proteins

3. Paul Vaska, Ph.D - Direct assessment of brain beta-amyloid plaques in WTC first responders

Dates and Times

Start: 6/11/2025 9:30 AM
End: 6/11/2025 11:00 AM

Objectives

1.To describe expected trajectories of functional aging in WTC-exposed responders, and to begin to describe its presence.

2. To understand the long-term course of PTSD symptoms, the clinical implications of chronic and worsening symptoms, including functional impairments and utilization of mental health care, the predictors and proteomics of long-term change and what this tells us about the neurobiology of PTSD and consequences for aging.

3. To understand how brain PET imaging of beta amyloid can address the etiology of cognitive impairment in unique populations such as our cohort of World Trade Center first responders.
