Objectives

-Review DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and current epidemiology of substance use disorders (SUDs).
-Understand the evidence behind FDA-approved medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders.
-Learn how to initiate MAT, monitor labs, and recognize contraindications and side effects.
-Compare number needed to treat (NNT) for MATs versus other commonly prescribed medications.
-Review off-label pharmacotherapy options for stimulant and alcohol use disorders.
