Description
A 45 minute presentation derived from the authors webinar offerings to the American Acedemy or Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. The focus will emphasize unique and problematic fractures of the femur potentially fraught with complication. Avoidance of pitfalls and contemporary methods towards a successful surgical outcome will be emphasized.

Objectives
1. Familiarize the registrant with the unique etiology and treatment strategies to address recalcitrant atypical femur fractures.
2. Understand the pitfalls common to the surgical fixation of subtrochanteric femoral fractures.
3. Familiarize the registrant with the attributes and liabilities of plate and nail fixation to manage subtrochanteric and atypical femur fractures.
