October 22nd, 2025 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit Hours
Description
There is an exponential growth in the procedures performed in the ambulatory setting. Expansion of extensive procedures in medically complex patients to ambulatory setting places the burden on anesthesiologists to provide safe, high quality, efficient and cost-effective care in these challenging settings. This will require modification of the current approach to perioperative care including appropriate patient and procedure selections, fast-trach anesthesia technique, optimal pain management, and postoperative care . In addition, recent pertinent literature from high impact scientific publications and an approach to integrate this information into daily ambulatory anesthesia practice will be discussed.
