Description
Dr. Brian Bronson, the Director of the C&L Division of Psychiatry, and his team will present on the many aspects, both medical and ethical, involved with renal transplant surgery.

Objectives
1. The history and epidemiology of renal transplant surgery.
2. The experience of patients with end-stage renal failure on dialysis awaiting a kidney transplant.
3. The ethical issues in organ transplantation surgery.
4. The psychosocial evaluation of potential candidates for receipt of a donated organ, or of candidates to make a living organ donation.
5. The roles and activities of a psychiatric service that interfaces with a renal transplantation program at a major university medical center.
