Description
The speaker will describe the concept of Quantitative and Systems Pharmacology as a modern approach to incorporating the rigor of clinical pharmacology into Cancer research and care.
Dates and Times
Start: 5/2/2018 12:00 PM
End: 5/2/2018 1:00 PM
Objectives
Pull together the current "buzzword" terms in Cancer care: big data, precision/personalized medicine based on genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and epigenomics analyses- it creates excitement but also pressure for clinicians and scientists to deliver on the promise with greater impact than ever. But we do not have the system structure in place to maximize our collective success. The speaker will describe the concept of Quantitative and Systems Pharmacology as a modern approach to incorporating the rigor of clinical pharmacology into Cancer research and care. Objectives for this presentation are for the attendee to:
1) Recognize changes in the drug development and care delivery system that challenge effective personalization, and precise use, of medical therapy in cancer patients.
2) Identify current concerns for the role of clinical pharmacology in the era of big data/omics in Oncology.
3) Become familiar/be able to describe new approaches to incorporation of quantitative/computational strategies in improving drug development and cancer care.
