Objectives

1) Discuss the basic physiology underlying spinal dysraphism

2) Be able to recognize stigmata associated with occult spinal dysraphism, discuss the initial workup of these findings and to whom to make the appropriate referrals.

3) Be able to discriminate between findings representative of occult spinal dysraphism and those not neurosurgically relevant.
