Presentation regarding Sciatica, including history, differential diagnosing, and prognosis.

Objectives
1. To follow the historical development of the syndrome of LBP & Sciatica from the ancient period through the 19th & 20th Century through today
2. To recognize the various possible differential diagnosis underlying the syndrome of sciatica. One has to understand that sciatica is not synonymous with a herniated disc in a patient presenting to us as health provider in the ER.
3. To recognize the true prognosis of Sciatica. The concept that most Sciaticas are curable in a short period of time has been recently challenged.
