Dr. Fombonne will speak on the epidemiology of Autism Spectrum Disorder - rates, temporal trends, and environmental risk.

Objectives

1.) To appreciate competing explanations for the observed rise in Autism prevalence

2) To grade the strength of evidence for risk association of Autism with several environmental exposures

3) To identify some methodological pitfalls and problems in the published environmental risk literature on Autism

4) To provide practitioners and their clients with means to challenge beliefs and focus on evidence
