Management of Patients with Advanced Kidney Disease: Successes, Failure and Future Targets

Objectives
At the end of the CME activity, the attendees will be able to:
1) Discuss the epidemiology and mechanisms leading to increased risk for mortality and morbidity in patients with advanced kidney disease.
2) Understand the relevance of non-traditional cardiovascular risk factors such as inflammation, oxidative stress and insulin resistance in the development of vascular disease in patients with advanced kidney disease.
3) Know the effects of current and potential future therapies to decrease cardiovascular disease burden in patients with advanced kidney disease.
