Vascular Surgery topics are presented by experts in their fields and are selected as highly relevant and important to the development of a current base of medical knowledge necessary to maintain a high level of care. These presentations are intended to introduce resident, faculty and medical students the most current and accepted approaches to the discipline of Vascular Surgery including medical problem solving, surgical skills, and new techniques in diagnosis and treatment.

Objectives

  • Discuss the consequences of reoperative fields in open aortoiliac cases.
  • Discuss minimal surgical options in frail elderly patients.
  • Discuss antiplatelet therapy and its role in bypass patency as well as lysis in longer term occlusions.

  • Edvard Skripochnik, MD
    • 74F with symptomatic aortoiliac occlusive disease and a history of sigmoidectomy for diverticulitis/ 83F with severe right leg rest pain with a chronic aortic occlusion and a prior left axillary-femoral bypass.
  • Georgios Tzavellas, MD
    • 70F with rest pain in the right foot with bilateral occluded fem-pop bypasses for 4 weeks.
