Colorectal tumor board conference enables participants to develop and make strides in the core competencies outlined by the ACGME

Objectives

The objectives are:

Gain Exposure to and understand the diversity of cases involving colorectal cancer patients that the individual surgeon is likely to come across in their experience

Gain experience in presenting case involving colorectal cancer and communicating their relevance to a broader audience

Collaborate with and learn from the expertise of specialists at those conference about the variety of cases diagnosed and managed.  Alternative treatments are carefully examined.  These objectives of participation in the colorectal tumor board ensure advancement in competencies relating to practice based learning and improvement, medical knowledge, patient care, interpersonal and communication skills, and professionalism
