Objectives

• Recognize the prevalence of insomnia, particularly increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact that this has had on mental health
• Understand the problems associated with the over-reliance on sleep medications for the management of chronic insomnia
• Develop an awareness of the basic principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia
• Consider the utilization of behavioral medicine psychologists in the collaborative treatment of chronic insomnia
