The ACGME core competencies provide the educational framework and the basic foundation of this CME activity. Each faculty member brings their specialty specific knowledge of the literature along with their specialty specific expertise to bear on difficult neuro-oncologic problems. Treatment consensus is the ultimate goal. Discussions that do not achieve consensus strive to identify a path to consensus.

The Board seeks to obtain ever increasing knowledge of the pathology, biology, physiology and imaging of the spectrum of benign and malignant tumors of the brain and spine. Below are the Board's objectives:

  • To understand a pathological diagnosis along with its implications for prognosis and treatment
  • Identify treatment successes and failures and how they relate to summary statistics
  • Critically evaluate investigational protocols and their results/outcome
