Description
Surgical Grand Rounds topics are presented by experts in their fields and are selected as highly relevant and important to the development of a current base of medical knowledge necessary to maintain a high level of care. These presentations are intended to introduce residents, faculty, and affiliated community physicians to the most current and accepted approaches to the discipline of Surgery, including medical problem solving, surgical skills, and new techniques in diagnosis and treatment.

Objectives
1. Educate the Surgical team on ICD-10 language and coding.
2. Educate the providers on the documentation of “codeable” diagnoses in order to ensure their patient’s acuity and the care provided is captured.
3. Educate the Surgical Residents and new Surgical staff about the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist’s role as a liaison between the providers and the inpatient hospital coders.
4. Educate the Surgical team on how their documentation affects revenue and quality outcomes.
