Objectives

1) To discuss frequency of and reasons for polypharmacy in the treatment of schizophrenia

2) To evaluate the evidence base for the efficacy and safety of polypharmacy strategies involving agents from the same and from different medication classes

3) To identify appropriate patients and clinical scenarios for combination and augmentation strategies in the management of patients with schizophrenia with insufficient response to antipsychotic monotherapy
