Objectives

Introduce the learner to several applications of bedside echocardiography in the assessment of cardiac output/stroke volume measurement, valvulopathies, pericardial tamponade and regional wall motion abnormalities
Demonstrate the use point of care echocardiography in both classifying shock states and guiding clinical decision making
Review scenarios when use of vasoactive and inotropic medications beyond norepinephrine and vasopressin may be applicable.
