Objectives

  1. Discuss the characteristics clinical, diagnostic, and treatment features of small fiber neuropathies
  2. Understand recent discoveries in small fiber neuropathies incidence, prevalence, comorbid conditions
  3. Discuss the neurophysiological techniques for the evaluation of small nerve fiber function and describe the patterns of abnormality these studies can show in patients with small fiber neuropathy
  4. Recognize appropriate laboratory testing to guide therapies
  5. Discuss the role of skin biopsy in diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy
