Objectives
- Discuss the characteristics clinical, diagnostic, and treatment features of small fiber neuropathies
- Understand recent discoveries in small fiber neuropathies incidence, prevalence, comorbid conditions
- Discuss the neurophysiological techniques for the evaluation of small nerve fiber function and describe the patterns of abnormality these studies can show in patients with small fiber neuropathy
- Recognize appropriate laboratory testing to guide therapies
- Discuss the role of skin biopsy in diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy
