Description

Objectives
- Describe recent updates in the clinical screening and diagnosis of congenital CMV and to review he diagnosis and management of perinatal HIV exposure.
- Comprehend the critical window for effective establishment of milk supply, identify prenatal risk factors that may impact coming to volume and adopt a pro-active approach for optimizing milk production.
- Discuss the latest developments in management of diabetes in pregnancy.
- Review critical research findings in reproductive psychiatry that inform clinical care and Identify reliable resources for information on the reproductive safety of medications.
- Define the presentation and treatment of postpartum depression psychosis; and describe and assess the vulnerability for mood episodes in women with bipolar disorder and acute treatment and preventative strategies.
- Describe and apply the risks/benefits safety of psychiatric medication during the postpartum and breastfeeding context.
- Increase knowledge of perinatal loss and bereavement experience and identify three ways of providing effective bereavement support.
