Healthcare data analytics has emerged as a transformative force within the healthcare industry, offering unprecedented insights and opportunities for improving patient outcomes, operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall quality of care. The daylong seminar will yield several valuable outcomes for participants: enhanced knowledge, skill development, informed decision-making, collaboration and networking, addressing challenges and professional growth.

While the overarching theme for this event is healthcare data analytics, the event is designed to provide all attendees with an understanding of the benefits of using available real-world data to guide decision making in healthcare, increase expertise in healthcare data analysis and interpretation, and create an awareness of the various sources/interfaces available to help explore this data inside and outside of Stony Brook.

Objectives

  • Understand the benefits of using available real-world data to guide decision making in healthcare – including potential pitfalls and the potential introduction of bias.
  • Increase expertise in healthcare data analysis and interpretation, as well as the ability to integrate insights into clinical decision-making.
  • Create awareness an awareness of the various sources/interfaces available to help explore this data inside and outside of Stony Brook.
  • Make participants aware that one of these interfaces (TriNetX) is available to all at Stony Brook. Provide TriNetX contact information to participants so they can learn more about the availability and use of the interface.
