Objectives
- Identify appropriate candidates that meet criteria for Cardiac alert in pregnant people.
- Understand that decriminalization of opioid use during pregnancy involves shifting from punitive criminal legal and child welfare policies toward a health-based approach that emphasizes treatment and support.
- Increase their knowledge, improve practices and discuss important clinical issues related to premature infants.
- Review challenges faced by NICU Parents in Crisis, explore Available Support Systems for Struggling Parents. Discuss Best Practices for Parental Engagement in the NICU Promote Trauma-Informed and Non-Judgmental Care Approaches. Empower parents to overcome obstacles and build bonds.
- Explore surrogacy practices to see how they affect patient care.
- Define the Dual Family Care Model and issues relate to this model. Define best practice approaches in the care of transgender birthing patients. Review updated language and definitions for the LGBT+ community.
- Discuss the resurgence of GBS, syphilis and herpes in pregnant persons and potential effects on newborn.
