• Appreciate the spectrum of cutaneous disorders due to melanin-producing melanocytes within the dermis

• In general, the density of dermal melanocytes is greater in dermal melanocytomas than in dermal melanocytoses

• Recognize the various subtypes of blue nevi, from common and cellular to plaque and invasive
