Description

The CME activity is designed to increase participants' understanding of evidence-based treatments for obesity and their ability to educate their patients regarding obesity and evidence-based obesity interventions, collaboratively discuss the risks and benefits of various treatments options, and refer their patients to appropriate specialists who can provide evidence based obesity interventions.

Objectives

  • Discuss evidence-based interventions that are available to patients with obesity.
  • Review treatment options for patients with overweight or obesity.
  • Enhance understanding of the psychosocial nutritional, and medical needs of patients with obesity and comorbidities.
  • Provide appropriate referrals to clinicians and programs that can provide evidence-based interventions for obesity.
