Objectives
Identify preoperative and intraoperative risk factors for unplanned postoperative intubation.
Apply the 2023 ASA Practice Guidelines on Monitoring and Antagonism of Neuromuscular Blockade.
Describe the pharmacology and duration of action of rocuronium and appropriate dosing of sugammadex.
Recognize residual neuromuscular blockade and recurarization as causes of postoperative respiratory failure.
Select postoperative respiratory support strategies for high-risk patients.
Determine appropriate postoperative disposition (Phase I vs Phase II).
