Objectives

Identify preoperative and intraoperative risk factors for unplanned postoperative intubation.​
Apply the 2023 ASA Practice Guidelines on Monitoring and Antagonism of Neuromuscular Blockade.​
Describe the pharmacology and duration of action of rocuronium and appropriate dosing of sugammadex.​
Recognize residual neuromuscular blockade and recurarization as causes of postoperative respiratory failure.​
Select postoperative respiratory support strategies for high-risk patients.​
Determine appropriate postoperative disposition (Phase I vs Phase II).
