Objectives
- Develop a structured approach to acute focal weakness, including localization within the neuroaxis and formulation of an appropriate initial diagnostic workup.
- Interpret emergent neuroimaging and vascular studies to differentiate ischemic stroke subtypes and determine eligibility for acute interventions (e.g. thrombolysis or thrombectomy)
- Outline evidence-based acute management and secondary prevention strategies, incorporating risk-factor assessment and indications for multidisciplinary involvement, including neurosurgical or endovascular consultation.
