Description
This activity is for people who want to learn more about venous thromboembolism (VTE). We will talk about what VTE is and why it’s important to know about it. VTE can cause serious harm, but many cases can be prevented. We will learn how working together as a team can help stop VTE. We will also look at the newest information about VTE, who is most at risk, and what signs to watch for. Finally, we will learn simple ways to help prevent and manage VTE to keep people safe.

- Improve awareness of VTE as a preventable cause of morbidity and mortality.
- Promote evidence- based VTE prevention and management strategies.

- Apply updated evidence to clinical decision-making in everyday practice.
- Describe cutting edge approaches for the treatment of VTE.
- Identify patient populations at increased risk for VTE.
- Discuss evidence-based strategies for prevention and management of post-thrombotic syndrome.
