Objectives

1.Discuss the medical and legal perspectives of the contractual agreement between a physician and his/her patient.
2.Discern the concepts of informed consent and implied guarantee.
3.Discuss the role of the medical record as a legal document.
4.Discuss techniques to explore the motivations of patients seeking cosmetic surgery, and how to distinguish acceptable, unacceptable, and pathological motivations including psychiatric aspects.
5.Discuss basic principles of risk management.
