Surgical Grand Rounds topics are presented by experts in their fields and are selected as highly relevant and important to the development of a current base of medical knowledge necessary to maintain a high level of care. These presentations are intended to introduce residents, faculty, and affiliated community physicians to the most current and accepted approaches to the discipline of Surgery, including medical problem solving, surgical skills, and new techniques in diagnosis and treatment.

1. To understand the basic science data behind the FDA warning on general anesthesia in children

2. Awareness of the clinical research data regarding general anesthesia in the neonatal period and childhood development

Second Speaker: Mohsen Bannazadeh, MD

Topic: Contemporary Management of Mesenteric Ischemia in Endovascular Era

Objectives

1. To understand the vale different diagnostic modalities to evaluate the patient with mesenteric ischemia

2. To recognize the treatment paradigms including open and endovascular therapies
