Description
Prevention of Type 1 Diabetes
(Please Note: Session only open to Stony Brook Medicine Physicians, Nurses, Medical Students and Stony Brook Medicine Affiliates)

Objectives
- To understand the natural history of Type 1 diabetes and risk of the disease in relatives of patients
- To recognize achievements and limitations of therapies to treat Type 1 diabetes.
- To learn the results of the teplizumab prevention trial
- To understand how anti-CD3 antibodies may affect immune responses that are relevant to Type 1 diabetes
