Description
Next generation sequencing (NGS) is a technique that has advanced knowledge of the genetic alterations that underlie the pathogenesis of cancer and in the implementation of cancer therapy adapted to the molecular alterations of tumours . It is now becoming integrated into routine clinical diagnostics , identification of potential therapeutic targets, reveals resistance mechanisms and facilitates disease monitoring. This review is intended to give an overview of NGS with an emphasis on clinical utility and diagnosis.
