Description

Ophthalmology Clinical Rounds consist of a 1.5 hour lecture time by faculty and invited speakers who focus on new advances in the clinical and basic science fields of Ophthalmology. Emphasis is placed on contemporary techniques of diagnosis and medical/surgical therapy. The sessions provide a forum for group discussion of difficult or interesting diagnostic/management problems encountered by the specialist.

Objectives

  • Describe bench to bedside development of a novel device for corneal crosslinking

  • Current update on the state of clinical corneal crosslinking (CXL) for ectasia and refractive correction.

  • Overview of the laboratory to clinical application development pathway for an ophthalmic device.

  • Description of translational development of a new CXL device up to completion of published pilot clinical trial and now being prepared for next stage FDA trial.
