Description
Radiologists and technologists will jointly attend the sessions which will focus on important areas of shared responsibility and will promote a dialogue between registrants and faculty regarding problems encountered in the practice setting.
ASRT has approved this conference for 9.0 Category A Credits.

Objectives
- Determine the most appropriate first imaging test for young and/or pregnant patients.
- Recognize the most common findings and etiologies for young and/or pregnant patients.
- Determine when to avoid biopsy for gynecomastia in male patients.
- Apply American Joint Committee on Cancer criteria in staging breast cancer patients.
- Describe the role of imaging in staging breast cancer patients.
- Explain the importance of staging in the care of breast cancer patients.
- Describe the most common missed findings on breast ultrasound.
- Recognize the reimbursement challenges for screening breast ultrasound.
- Describe the appropriate evidence-based indications for breast MRI.
- Select appropriate patients for targeted ultrasound.
- Perform MRI-guided breast biopsy with pro-level skill and confidence.
- Classify the types of mammographic findings that comprise the category of asymmetries.
- Demonstrate how tomosynthesis impacts the interpretation and clinical significance of asymmetries and architectural distortions identified at mammography.
- Identify which histologies are included in the high-risk category.
- Recognize the scope or burden of diagnosing high risk breast histologies in the United States.
- Implement the current standards of care for managing high risk histologies.
- Describe the anticipated changes in the mammography and ultrasound sections of BI-RADS 6th edition.
- Recognize the clinical significance of BI-RADS lexicon in mammography and ultrasound in determining assessment and managements recommendations.
- Describe the forthcoming changes to the audit section of the BI-RADS atlas.
- Appropriately categorize histology into positive and negative results for the purposes of the audit.
- Distinguish between screening and diagnostic positive and negative exams for the purposes of the audit.
- Analyze the morphology of lymph nodes to determine if biopsy is indicated.
- Apply the current data in the management of the axilla in the breast cancer patient.
- Apply principles of concordance to physical examination, imaging and pathology results.
- Make appropriate management decisions and recommendation for patients for concordant and discordant results.
- Apply appropriate criteria to recommend the indicated and clinically helpful imaging tests.
- Interpret imaging findings in the context of clinical signs and symptoms to derive correct diagnoses.
