Description
This lecture will review disparities in regional anesthesiology and pain medicine and illustrate how the social determinants of health contribute to these disparities. Solutions to mitigating health disparities in anesthesiology and healthcare will also be explored.

Objectives
1. Define social determinants of the health and understand the role in plays in regional anesthesia, acute and chronic pain medicine
2. Illustrate the differences in delivery of regional anesthesia and pain medicine in various subspecialties such as obstetrics, acute and chronic pain medicine
3. Describe solution to mitigate and eliminate disparities at the patient, physician/provider and healthcare system levels
