Description
OB/GYN Grand Rounds topics are presented by experts in their fields and are selected as highly relevant and important to the development of a current base of medical knowledge necessary to maintain a high level of care. These presentations are intended to introduce residents, faculty and affiliated community physicians to the most current and accepted approaches to the discipline of Obstetrics and Gynecology including medical problem solving, surgical skills and new techniques in diagnosis and treatment.

Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Implement trauma-informed screening for abuse and neglect across the lifespan (pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult), document disclosures and injuries using objective, patient-centered language, and initiate age-appropriate referrals and resources (SAFE/ED, CAC, APS/CPS, advocacy, and community supports) consistent with institutional policy.
2. Differentiate medical care vs. forensic care and identify when/how to activate the SAFE pathway, including options for reporting and evidence storage.
3. Describe the NYS Sexual Offense Evidence Collection Kit (SOECK) time window and key consent elements (medical exam, evidence collection, photography, and release/storage).
4. Operationalize referrals and documentation pathways for pediatric/adolescent cases (CAC interface) and outline evidence considerations when a patient is pursuing termination after assault.
