Nutrition In Serious Illness

Objectives
By the end of the session, learners will be able to describe the role of nutrition in serious illness.
By the end of the training, learners will be able identify factors that place patients with advanced cancer or other serious illnesses at risk for loss of vital body resources and describe the resulting clinical consequences (e.g., malnutrition, immunodeficiency, impaired quality of life).
By the conclusion of the module, learners will be able to identify and evaluate components of an integrated nutrition care approach and explain how these components can reduce eating‑related distress and improve quality of life in patients with advanced illness
