This interactive virtual workshop provides participants with foundational skills in designing effective and user‐friendly surveys for medical education research. Through guided examples, we will explore best practices in crafting clear questions, optimizing survey response rate, and applying free online survey tools available at Stony Brook University.

Objectives
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Determine when it is appropriate to use surveys as a data collection
method; - Define the common sources of error in survey data;
- Compose survey questions that minimize measurement error;
- Determine the optimal order, flow, and nature of questions in a survey
instrument; - Apply strategies to maximize survey response rate.
