Objectives

1) Discuss the importance of the prevention or delay of diabetes and list its associated comorbidities


2) Diagnose and classify the different types of diabetes.


3) Discuss the importance of prompt evaluation of hyperglycemia in all form of diabetes to ensure early preventative interventions


3) Describe the comprehensive medical evaluation and assessment of co-morbidities that will impact the choice of medical treatment for diabetes


4) Describe different diabetes technological devices and describe how to initiate and prescribe continuous glucose monitoring devices


5) Discuss different pharmacologic approaches to glycemic treatment based on diabetes and co-morbidities.
