Objectives

1. Define/classify OA and recognize when it’s use is appropriate
2. Choose a temporary abdominal closure (TAC) strategy that maximizes early fascial closure
3. Apply a closure algorithm (early primary closure → traction-assisted closure → planned ventral hernia / reconstruction)
4. Understand key complications (ACS/IAH, EAF, loss of domain)
