Multidisciplinary Educational Meeting Focused on Discussion of Complex Fetal Diagnosis and Management

Objectives

1. Describe genetic basis and common phenotypic features of Trisomy 18​
2. Review contemporary survival data​
3. Discuss medical complications and longitudinal care needs in patients with Trisomy 18​
4. Review evolving approaches in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ranging from intensive interventions, including cardiac surgery and prolonged respiratory support to supportive management​
5. Discuss how to utilize family-centered communication strategies when doing Initial counseling and discussing prognosis and treatment options​
6. Differentiate palliative care from end-of-life care and describe the role of concurrent palliative involvement​
