Description
Our lecture will discuss personal safety issues that affect anesthesiologist's health and put them at risk of disability. These include physical, chemical, and biological harms in the operating room and our lecture discusses ways to minimize their risks to the health of anesthesiologists. We also discuss psychosocial safety issues affecting anesthesiologists, including stress, burnout, and substance use. We discuss institutional and individual ways to reduce the risk of harm from these psychosocial stressors.
