Description

This one hour case conference will include case presentations in central nervous system demyelinating disease, such as multiple sclerosis, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, optic neuritis, transverse myelitis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein Antibody-Associated Disease, and autoimmune encephalitis. A review of MRI findings and recent publications pertinent to central nervous system demyelinating disease will also be included in the case conference.

Objectives

1. Determine whether MRI imaging features support a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
2. Be aware of imaging modalities that are optimized to detect multiple sclerosis lesions.
3. Become familiar with lesions characteristic of multiple sclerosis mimics (neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease, autoimmune encephalitis)
