Description

At the end of the lecture, the participant will be able to formulate a plan for thoracic non cardiac cases, based on the proper preoperative testing.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:


1. Assess the patient undergoing thoracic non-cardiac surgery and estimate the risks of surgery.
2. Determine what preoperative lung testing is needed and how the results may impact the anesthetic and analgesic management.
3. Outline the latest updates in preoperative testing for thoracic non-cardiac surgery.
4. Select the most appropriate ventilation strategy and airway management for thoracic non cardiac surgery based on preoperative history and lung function.
